adAway is a useful tool for those who do not wish to deal with excessive pop-up advertisements that appear on so many websites they visit while using their Android device to surf the web. The app also gives users the option of choosing the device's host files.

Because the creators of adAway know that there may be times when users may not wish to block certain ads from some websites, they included the option to notate exceptions when necessary. This list of exceptions is referred to as a "whitelist." In addition to websites, users can also add hosts to the list as well.

One important thing you need to consider before downloading adAway is that the app does require that any device on which it is installed be rooted in order for the app to perform to its fullest potential. You can run the app on an unrooted device, but you should be aware that only some of the app's features will be available in that situation. If you wish to root your device before installing adAway, you should review the many rooting apps that are currently available on the market and pick the one you think will best fit your needs.

Pros:

  • Blocks annoying pop-up ads.
  • Includes several features.
  • Create whitelist of exceptions when necessary.
  • Interface is clean and easy to use.

Cons:

  • No significant negatives have been discovered.
